The trail from Kilpisjärvi to Halti Fell runs through the magnificent fell wilderness of Lapland. Our goal is to reach the border cairn of Finland and Norway, located at the summit of Halti. If you’re lucky, you can admire views stretching up to 40 km, making this one of the best tours for panoramic landscapes in Lapland.
For first-time snowmobilers, we recommend starting with one of our shorter snowmobile safari packages before embarking on this thrilling journey.
Tour distance and duration: 110 km / 6 hours. This guided tour package includes guiding, thermal outfit, a hot drink, a pastry, and a trail license. You can also preorder a box lunch for 20€, which includes a sandwich, curd, fruit, coffee, and tea.

You can preorder box lunch for 20 €. Box lunch includes sandwich, curd, fruit, coffee and tea.
Meeting place for the activity is Kilpissafarit. Meeting 15–5 minutes before scheduled start. Optional pick up and return service from resort in 5 km radius from Kilpissafarit office, 5€ per person in connection with reservation. Please note timetable is in Finnish timezone.
Tour is weather permitted. In case we cancel this trip due to weather condition you will get full refund.

This activity requires minimum of 4 persons on snowmobiles or 6 persons on sleigh booked. If less customers, Kilpissafarit will contact customers latest on previous day and provide options of either cancellation with full refund or option for private tour with extra cost. Customers can request from Kilpissafarit about current status of booking by e-mail: info@kilpissafarit.fi
Requirements for participants:
- Earlier snowmobiling experience required
- Age limit for driving snowmobile 18 years
- Drivers license not necessary
- If you don´t have drivers license, please inform it in additional information box when booking
- Minimum heigh on snowmobile 140 cm (driver or passenger)
- Age limit for sleigh transport 10 years
- One adult is suggested to accompany children on sleigh
Recommended to wear/bring:
- ID and drivers license
- Outdoor clothing (thermal clothing set included)
- Eyewear and sunglasses for day tours after February
- Beanie
- Woolen underwear
- Woolen gloves
